Salt & Light Farms started as a personal venture, initially aimed at instilling a strong work ethic in our young children through hands-on activities, creativity, and shared ownership of our small farm. Our goal was to embrace a simpler life, helping them understand the origins of their food and the responsibility that comes with caring for animals and sustaining life. This journey has been a profoundly enriching experience, marked by both success and failure, joy and pain. Overall, it has transformed the way we view our food and appreciate the hard work required to sustain it.
Upon reflection, I can discern the hand of God working in our lives. We genuinely believe that this endeavor was part of His plan, evidenced by doors opening that only He could unlock. Through the toil, tears, and significant investment, I can see how it has impacted us—perhaps as much or even more than it has our children. All glory goes to God!

Salt and Light - Matthew 5:13-16
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Salt & Light Farms
Salt and Light Farms is more than a farm dedicated to selling products; we see it as a ministry for our children and for those around us who have yet to hear the good news. Jesus used the terms "salt and light" to describe the role of His followers: salt symbolizes the preservation of moral integrity and the capacity to positively influence the world, while light embodies truth, guidance, and the powerful effect of living out one’s faith.
Together, these ideas highlight our calling to actively create a positive impact on society for God's kingdom.
